Earrings

Earrings are worn by both men and women, but in Western society they are more commonly found on females. In fact, it is practically a rite of passage for a young woman to get her ears pierced. Many girls now get their ears pierced while they are still children.

Some parents allow their children to wear earrings even though they do not want to let them pierce their ears. The perfect solution in this case is to buy clip on earrings. These attach to the ear with clips, but do not need to go through holes in an ear lobe.

Earrings come in all different sizes and are made of many materials. Common components include plastic, glass, and beads. More expensive earrings include precious stones such as diamonds.
